Empyre Water Co is based in Colorado Springs. We're not a franchise, we're not a call center, and there is no commissioned closer who drives in from out of state to sit in your living room.
Why we started this
We already run a business in Colorado Springs — Empyre Outdoor Living, doing landscaping and hardscaping across the Front Range. Working in people's yards for years, the same conversation kept coming up at kitchen sinks: someone had been sold a water system, or nearly had been, and nobody had ever shown them a number.
So we looked into it properly. And what we found is that Colorado Springs has some of the softest municipal water in the country — roughly 1.8 grains per gallon on the mountain-sourced side — while companies here run the same hard-water sales script that works in Texas and Arizona. That's not a small exaggeration. It's selling equipment for a problem that isn't there.
We think there's a real business in doing the opposite: test first, publish the numbers, install what the numbers justify, and service it properly for years afterward. That's the entire model.
What family-owned actually means here
It means the person who quotes your job is the person who's accountable for it. It means we're not being measured on close rate by a corporate office. And it means that if we oversell a neighborhood, we hear about it at the grocery store — which is a better accountability mechanism than any compliance department.
How we're set up
- Empyre Water Co LLC — a Colorado limited liability company.
- Licensed and insured. We carry our own general liability coverage rather than relying on a supplier's policy.
- Permitted installs. Every job is permitted in its jurisdiction and the plumbing is performed by a licensed Colorado plumber.
- You own the equipment. No rentals, no liens, no long-term contracts.
What we won't do
- Publish a review, testimonial or install count we can't prove
- Claim a certification or accreditation we don't hold
- Tell you your water is unsafe when your utility reports it in compliance
- Quote a price that expires when we leave your house
- Sell a softener to a home with soft water
We're new, and we're going to say so
Empyre Water Co is a young company. You will not find a hundred five-star reviews on this site, because we haven't earned a hundred reviews yet, and inventing them is both dishonest and illegal under the FTC's rule on consumer reviews.
What you get instead: sourced numbers you can verify yourself, a written recommendation, a permitted install, and a local family whose other business has been working in this city for years and intends to keep working here.
